The Jacksonville Jaguars had a bounce-back season, making it to the playoffs but losing to the Buffalo Bills in the Wild Card Round. They’re hoping to build on that momentum for the upcoming season, and they could take things to the next level if some of their current players step up.

For Ryan Clark, the one player he’s looking for to make strides is Brian Thomas Jr.

“I want to see Brian Thomas Jr. return to the form we saw from him in Year 1,” Clark said on ESPN. “Over 1,200 yards, 10 touchdowns, and both of those things took a significant hit this year. You remember in the preseason in his rookie year, there were opposing coaches talking about him taking over joint practices. It was different heading into 2025.

“If you can add what BTJ was in his rookie year to Jakobi Meyers and Parker Washington, who, to me, was the revelation in the slot for Liam Coen and the Jacksonville Jaguars, that’s the explosiveness you need to take this team over the top. If he can be what we saw early and embrace being the No.1 guy at the wide receiver position, the sky is the limit for Liam Coen in Year 2.”

Thomas only finished with 707 yards and two touchdowns this year, which is far off from what he produced in his rookie year. The Jaguars’ offense was still successful despite his drop-off, but if he could get back to what he did in Year 1, this team could be better than they were last season.

It will be interesting to see if Coen can bring that force out of Thomas this season, and it could change the way teams game plan for them.
