Jay-Z is rumored to be the next Super Bowl halftime performer following Kendrick Lamar’s mid-game outing on the grandest stage this year.

The Roc Nation owner could headline the upcoming Super Bowl LX at the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, next February, though it’s all speculation for now.

Outlets ThePopTingz and Hip Hop Vibe sparked the buzz after reporting on the possibility.

The rapper’s company is in charge of picking the headliner, having agreed to a multi-year deal with the NFL, but Jay has never performed himself. Jesse Collins, a producer, noted that, “It’s a decision that Jay makes… he’s always picked right.”

Fans Split Over Jay-Z Super Bowl Rumor

While some fans are chuffed over the veteran rapper possibly headlining the show and reckon that a new album could be on the way, others aren’t so hot over it.

“this is like the principal of a high school making himself prom king. . .” one user joked.

“Bro has like 2 good songs,” said another.

Not sure about that one…

“Makes sense considering he owns the rights to the halftime entertainment. We’ll never see a rock halftime show again,” someone else wrote.

“Can we get away from rap/r&b for one year? Asking for a friend,” a fan asked.

Jay-Z has said previously that he isn’t keen on headlining a Super Bowl halftime show because he wants to showcase other artists, but there’s real belief that he could change his stance and thrust himself into the spotlight in 2026.

The NFL hasn’t addressed the speculation, but they usually confirm the halftime performer by September, so there’s not that long to go.

Jay-Z last released an album in 2017, launching his ‘4:44’ in June of that year. If he headlines the Super Bowl LX halftime show, it would mark his first solo performance in years.
