Mike Tomlin has enjoyed a long and successful 19-year tenure as the head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He’s led them to a remarkable 193-114-2 regular-season record, earning 13 playoff berths, where he’s gone 8-11. He’s even won a Super Bowl.

Yet, over the past few seasons, increased chatter has focused on the possibility of Tomlin being fired, traded, or simply allowed to leave the Pittsburgh organization. Of course, that hasn’t happened, with Tomlin instead going 19 seasons without finishing below .500, and now his most recent accomplishment includes another playoff berth.

However, Tomlin’s Steelers also haven’t won a playoff game since 2016, nearly a full decade. If he doesn’t finally get back to his winning ways in the postseason, there could be more changes coming to Pittsburgh. Possibly even one that few would ever see coming.

Recently, Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio suggested that Tomlin could even wind up on TV, exactly like Bill Cowher, the legendary Steelers coach whom Tomlin replaced in Pittsburgh.

TV personalities are raking in an absurd amount of money to provide their football analysis as of late. Tomlin, 53, certainly has a lot of unique experiences he can open up about. Plus, he’d be able to escape the daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly stresses of being a head coach, all while possibly making more money than he does now.

Still, there are only 32 NFL head coaching opportunities out there, and Tomlin arguably has one of the best positions in pro sports. Would he really want to give that up?
