He would work with new head coach Aaron Glenn to rebuild the team.
The Jets have their head coach, Aaron Glenn. Now Josina Anderson of ESPN says they are on the verge of having their general manager, Broncos assistant GM Darren Mougey.
Zack Rosenblatt says nothing is official.
These two statements aren’t necessarily contradictory. It very well could be a situation where Mougey is the guy, even if the final details need to be hammered out. Just a few days ago, Anderson was ahead of everybody reporting that Aaron Glenn would become the next Jets head coach.
Mougey has worked his entire career in the Broncos front office, starting as a scout in 2012 and working himself all the way up to assistant general manager. It’s difficult to fully judge his body of work, but the fact he has survived front office shakeups speaks to an executive who is well-respected. The most important thing is to get Glenn a GM he is comfortable with. If that’s Mougey, it’s tough to argue against the hire.
