Taylor Doll talks with Jeff Ermann of Inside MD Sports to get the skinny on Bears’ rookie linebacker Ruben Hyppolite II.

On her latest Making Monsters podcast, Taylor Doll interviewed Jeff Ermann, the founder of Inside MD Sports, to talk about Chicago Bears’ fourth-round draft pick, linebacker Ruben Hyppolite II. Ermann discusses how Hyppolite’s career began at Maryland and how Ruben fit into the Terps’ defense.

Ermann talked about how Maryland’s scheme, which had Hyppolite plug the middle and read and react, gave the impression he wasn’t as fast and athletic as his testing showed.

Taylor asked him about Hyppolite’s intangibles, like his leadership, character, and football IQ.

“Yeah, I would say if the draft were just based on those things, he would have been a top 10 pick. I mean, he’s an incredible kid. One of the most mature, high-character guys that I’ve seen come through the program,” Ermann said about Hyppolite. “Even when he arrived as a freshman early on, he sounded like just a veteran, generally speaking, super smart.”

Check out her show in either of the embeds below to learn more about Hyppolite, plus Ermann also gives a little love to DJ Moore and his time at Maryland.
