  1. RB Devin Singletary: New York Giants

In an attempt to find a suitable replacement for Saquon Barkley, the Giants signed Devin Singletary to a three-year, $16.5 million contract last offseason. But New York’s best back is turning out to be Tyrone Tracy Jr., who had a strong rookie season. With the Giants then selecting Cam Skattebo in this year’s draft, it now seems they don’t plan to keep Singletary around much longer.

  1. RB Antonio Gibson: New England Patriots

The 27-year-old running back will find himself fighting for snaps behind Rhamondre Stevenson and TreVeyon Henderson, the rookie out of Ohio State. With diminishing reps, rising younger competition, and cap implications, Antonio Gibson’s roster spot in New England looks questionable unless the Patriots decide his versatility is worth the cost.

  1. QB Joe Flacco: Cleveland Browns

With Deshaun Watson hurt, the Browns’ quarterback room has turned into a four-way battle featuring two rookies in Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel, Kenny Pickett, and the veteran Joe Flacco. Unless Cleveland wants to have four healthy QBs on the depth chart, one will likely be cut before the season. With Flacco being 40 years old and having no upside left in his career, he may be the odd one out.

  1. WR K.J Osborn: Washington Commanders

The Commanders could cut K.J. Osborn due to a crowded wide receiver room that now includes Deebo Samuel, Jaylin Lane, and returning contributors like Noah Brown, Luke McCaffrey and of course, star receiver Terry McLaurin. The 28-year-old is by no means locked into a spot on Washington’s roster.

  1. WR Sterling Shepard: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

While the Buccaneers did re-sign the 32-year-old Sterling Shepard this offseason, they added receiver weapons in the draft with first-round pick Emeka Egbuka and Tez Johnson, who was a prolific wideout while at Oregon. With two new rookies and still elite, veteran options in Chris Godwin and Mike Evans, Shepard could likely fall to the end of the depth chart. If Tampa Bay releases Shepard, they also save $1.7 million in cap space.
