The Tennessee Titans had a pretty good practice day against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers yesterday. It wasn’t all great, but there was enough good that should give us some confidence about this offense going forward.
Rookie wide receiver Elic Ayomanor put Bucs’ corner Tyrek Funderbunk in a blender:
Chimere Dike also caught a touchdown in the short-yardage period. The Titans waited until the fourth round in the 2025 NFL Draft to get any weapons for number one overall pick Cam Ward. That was too long in my opinion, but maybe they will hit on a few of the day three guys including Dike, Ayomanor and tight end Gunnar Helm.
Speaking of Helm, he was on the receiving end of what Jim Wyatt called “Ward’s best throw of the day.“ Helm and Chig Okonkwo should be a good duo. There is a lot of upside there. It will be interesting to see how Brian Callahan decides to employ them.
Calvin Ridley also had a good day. Ridley needs to be a stud for this offense to be good in 2025. He and Ward already have a better connection than Will Levis and Ridley ever did last year. Even with that being said, Ridley had 1,017 receiving yards last season.
Nate Washington said he hates joint practices because there are always fights. Well, there was a fight yesterday, and Cam Ward launched a ball into the skirmish. His response when asked who he was trying to hit was pretty funny:
