We always stress that the most important thing about preseason games is getting out of the contest without anyone getting significantly injured. Unfortunately, it does not appear that the Minnesota Vikings were able to avoid the injury bug in their preseason opener against the Houston Texans.

Early in the second quarter, Vikings’ receiver and punt returner Rondale Moore was dragged down near the sideline and needed to be carted off of the field.

Moore, who missed all of the 2024 season with the Atlanta Falcons after tearing his ACL, appeared to be taken down with an illegal “hip drop” tackle, and grabbed for his leg immediately after going down. Moore has had a history of injuries throughout his NFL career, and given the effort he had to put in to get back after his injury last season, it’s pretty devastating to see this one happen before the first half of the first preseason game had come to an end.

We’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that the injury isn’t as bad as it looked, but judging from Moore’s reaction after it happened, it appears to be another big one for Rondale Moore. We’ll bring you an update when he have one available.
