Roc Nation clapped back at Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones after he attempted to blame Jay-Z and Dez Bryant over his bizarre way of conducting contract negotiations.

On Friday, Dallas Cowboys superstar linebacker Micah Parsons went public with his trade request in a lengthy X/Twitter statement. For some reason, Jerry Jones has preferred to negotiate directly with the four-time Pro Bowler instead of his agent, David Mulugheta.

Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Jones was asked why he wanted to negotiate directly with Parsons instead of Mulugheta. Here’s Jones’ response, via Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram:

Jay-Z’s Roc Nation has since responded to Jerry Jones’ comments, denying the claim that the legendary rapper “did not” Jones’ call. Roc Nation called it “a false statement” and “comical.”

As every Cowboys fan knows, Jones loves any form of attention he can get. Even if he’s causing unnecessary distractions and tension in the organization, the 82-year-old is just happy to be making headlines.

Jerry Jones Can’t Get Out Of His Own Way

Parsons is the Cowboys’ most valuable player, and he’s just entering his prime at the age of 26. But only Jones would drag negotiations out for the most ridiculous reasons, to the point where Parsons wants out.

Jones hasn’t done much right since the Cowboys last won the Super Bowl 30 seasons ago, but his handling of the Parsons contract saga is really something else.
