San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh has accused the Jacksonville Jaguars of stealing signs. The 49ers and Jaguars will face off in San Francisco on Sunday, September 28.
Robert Saleh is back with the San Francisco 49ers after serving as the head coach of the New York Jets from 2021 to 2024. Saleh seems to have slid back into his role as an elite defensive coordinator, as the 49ers have allowed just 50 points across their first three games of the season.
Speaking to the media ahead of their Week 4 matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Saleh — who was previously the 49ers defensive coordinator from 2017 to 2020 — accused rookie head coach Liam Coen and his staff of using a “really advanced signal stealing system.”
“Liam Coen and his staff coming from Minnesota they got legally a really advanced signal stealing system where they always find a way to put themselves in an advantageous situation. They do a great job of it. We have to be great with our signals. Be great with our communication to combat some of those tells we might give on the field.”

Saleh and the San Francisco 49ers will be looking to continue their unbeaten start to the season — despite having to start back-up quarterback Mac Jones in two games — when they host the 2-1 Jags on Sunday. The 3-0 49ers are currently favored in the matchup by 4.5 points and have moneyline odds of -185.
