Back-to-back four-win seasons aren’t what New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft had in mind after six Super Bowl championships in 20 years. However, in Bill Belichick’s final season as head coach and Jerod Mayo’s first and only, that’s exactly what happened.
But, Kraft believes that is all behind them and made a passionate promise to Patriots fans at Fanatics Fest.
“Any Patriots fans that are out there? I can tell you I’m very excited about this upcoming season,” he told ESPN’s Adam Schefter. “The last two years were the worst years of my 31 years of ownership. We have to change that.”
“We have a new coach in Mike Vrabel who is really connected with the players, who’s doing great work,” Kraft added. “We have a young quarterback and a lot of great veterans, free agent veterans that came in, a great draft class.”
With the season right around the corner, Kraft is ready to see what this team has in store.
“We’re going to have fun this year, I promise,” he said.
And he’s ready to get back on top.
“We’ve owned the team 31 years, we’ve had 27 home playoff games, and we’ve been privileged to win 23,” Kraft stated. “I want that record to keep going.”
