The beef between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese recently sparked another one involving Robert Griffin III and Ryan Clark that managed to get pretty personal. However, the retired QB played his cards perfectly while using the feud to drum up sales for his wife’s business.
The most recent showdown between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese sparked a fresh wave of drama stemming from some hard fouls and allegations of racial abuse targeted at the latter that led to the WNBA opening an investigation into the matter.
It was also responsible for the latest round of Discourse concerning the role race plays when it comes to the perception of those two WNBA stars engaged in a rivalry where Reese has largely been positioned as the villain to Clark’s hero—a stance ESPN‘s Ryan Clark referenced when he pushed back against Robert Griffin III’s assertion the LSU product genuinely hates the Iowa legend.
The former safety probably went a bit too far while asserting RG3 wasn’t qualified to speak on Reese’s behalf based on decisions he’s made in his personal life, implying he hasn’t been able to have conversation with a Black woman about the situation she’s facing “because in both of your marriages, you’ve been married to white women.”
It was a pretty out-of-pocket criticism that Griffin quickly rebuked to kick off a back-and-forth between the two where Clark accused him of being a terrible teammate and coworker while attempting to clarify he doesn’t have any ill will against Grete, the former track-and-field athlete who’s been married to his new foe since 2018.
Grete has since pivoted to a career as a fitness influencer who peddles her own brand of workout apparel, gear, and supplements, and her husband used the Clark-inspired feud with the other Clark to draw some attention to it before announcing the booty bands offered on her website sold out after he helped publicize the business.
