Robert Griffin III is feeling for the family of Alex Foster following the reported shooting death of the Baylor Bears defensive lineman.
According to reports, Foster was one of two college athletes to have been gunned down within the last week. It’s said that he was shot in his home state of Mississippi on Tuesday and succumbed to his wounds.

“We are heartbroken by the unexpected loss of Alex Foster, a beloved member of our football family,” Baylor athletic director Mack Rhoades and football head coach Dave Aranda said in a joint statement.
“Alex’s memory will forever be part of our hearts and this program,” they added.
Foster was only 18.
RGIII, who boasts one of the most distinguished careers at Baylor, having become the first player from the program to win the Heisman Trophy in 2011, was heartbroken by news of Foster’s death.
“Prayers up for the family, teammates and friends of Baylor Defensive Lineman Alex Foster. Alex passed away at the age of 18 overnight. So much more life to live,” he wrote in a tweet.
Foster was a highly rated prospect for Baylor, and 247Sports had him as a four-star recruit coming out of high school in 2024.
As noted above, he was not the only college athlete to lose his life in a shooting incident this month. Henderson State basketball player Jamarion Brown also lost his life under tragic circumstances recently.
The 24-year-old was reportedly shot in the head during a pool party last Friday and later died from his injuries.
Police have since revealed that a 17-year-old is in custody for his murder.
