With the New England Patriots preparing for the 2026 season, the team has been dealing with some off-the-field news that some could say has been impacting them. As the scandal around Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel and reporter Dianna Russini was a huge story and still surrounds the team, former star Rob Gronkowski gave the team advice on how to change the perception.
Speaking to Fox News Digital, Gronkowski would have the key advice to New England to bring the attention back to football, rather than off-the-field drama. It’s advice that Gronkowski knows all too well, which is only one word.
“It’s as easy as this,” Gronkowski said. “Win. You win, you come together as a team, you work together, you work your butt off.”
Gronkowski is, of course, familiar with winning, especially with the Patriots, as he was a crucial part of three Super Bowls for the team, even winning one with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, all with teammate and legendary quarterback Tom Brady.
He would continue with the advice, saying how holding people accountable happens in the offseason and preseason, but when the regular season rolls around, it’s all about winning.
“Everyone has to show that they’re accountable during training camp. That they’re accountable during the preseason. Once the regular season comes, you gotta win, baby,” Gronkowski said.
“If you win, it solves all problems,” Gronkowski continued. “It’s crazy how winning in the NFL, it truly does, and you’re good to go there. You gotta win, baby.”
It remains to be seen if the Patriots will follow Gronkowski’s advice, though the team last season did a lot of winning, having a 14-3 record, going all the way to the Super Bowl, though the team lost. New England opens the 2026 season in a Super Bowl rematch on Sept. 9.
