One of the biggest storylines heading into Week 12 is that Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders will likely make his first career start against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.
Sanders took over at the start of the second half during Cleveland’s Week 11 loss to the Baltimore Ravens after starting quarterback Dillon Gabriel left the field due to a concussion. Although Sanders didn’t exactly shine in his debut, completing just 47 yards and throwing one interception, former Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski remains optimistic, believing that Sanders will secure a win this Sunday.
“I think he gets a win, and I think he stays consistent, and he remains the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns,” Gronkowski said on Wednesday during “Up & Adams”.
Sanders will make his first career start at the perfect time, as the Browns face the Raiders. Las Vegas has been giving up an average of 219.5 passing yards per game while allowing 25.3 points per game.
With Sanders receiving all the first-team reps this week, he should feel more comfortable with his receivers and offensive line, which could be a big help for him this Sunday.
Despite both the Browns and Raiders having only two wins, fans expect their upcoming matchup to be one of the most-watched games this week. Many viewers are eager to see Sanders in action.
