With the Pittsburgh Steelers in need of a quarterback, Louisville’s Tyler Shough could be a sleeper option for Pittsburgh in the draft. The Steelers’ brass was at the Senior Bowl, so they got a good look at the rising QB who showed out in Mobile.
Ryan Fowler of the Draft Network believes buzz is starting to work its way around on Louisville quarterback Tyler Shough. Fowler has a third-round eval on Shough. Some analyst believe he’s even the third-best quarterback in the draft.
At Louisville in 2024, Shough completed 62.7 of his passes for 3,195 yards with 23 touchdowns, six interceptions, and a passer rating of 148.1.
The buzz is starting to work its way around on Louisville QB Tyler Shough, a player that really flashed on tape pre-Senior Bowl leading to a 3rd round eval in January for me.

Louis Riddick of ESPN said that Shough is a legit talent.
“Tyler is legit. Saw him live 2x this fall. Those who don’t know will know soon,” Riddick wrote on X.
Shough told Shough that he’ll be ready to display his talents at the NFL Scouting Combine next week.
“I’m coming to throw and compete 100%!!” Shough wrote on X.
In an interview on the Rich Eisen Show earlier this month, Riddick said Shough will be the “steal of the draft.”
“I said it down there (in Mobile), I said it during the regular season, I’m gonna say it now. If you put him in an offense like Sean McVay’s, like Kyle Shanahan’s, like Kevin Stefanski’s, this kid is going to be the surprise and steal of the draft, in particular, at quarterback,” Riddick said.
The Athletic’s Dane Brugler ranked Shough as the fourth quarterback in this class, but noted that Shough was a fast-rising candidate and ‘a dark horse’ to be the third guy off the board.
Former ESPN draft analyst Todd McShay also tabbed Shough as a top four quarterback in the class.
Shough is a name to watch as the draft process continues. He could be a steal for the Black and Gold in April.
