The Seattle Seahawks made three seventh-round picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. Two of those players have been waived, and we’re still TBD on the third.
Following news that running back Damien Martinez would not make Seattle’s initial 53-man roster, ESPN’s Brady Henderson reported that former UNLV wide receiver and special teams ace Ricky White III has also been let go.
White III, who was Seattle’s final pick of the draft, never really made an impact on special teams, in which he shined in college and blocked four punts in his final season at UNLV. He was also unable to get beyond the third-team offense in training camp and preseason. In a crowded wide receiver room with the likes of Dareke Young and Cody White also battling to make the roster, Ricky was always fighting an uphill battle, as is common for any seventh-rounder.
As Brady noted, White III will likely be a candidate for the practice squad should he clear waivers on Wednesday.
Seattle’s other third-round pick, incidentally, was offensive lineman Mason Richman. With Michael Jerrell traded to the Atlanta Falcons, perhaps there is a real chance for Richman to crack the roster given his versatility to play across the line.
