The New England Patriots are on cruise control, as they have won eight straight games to push their record to 9-2 on the season. Making their three most recent wins even more impressive is the fact that they have come without starting running back Rhamondre Stevenson.
In the team’s Week 8 win over the Cleveland Browns, Stevenson picked up a toe injury that has forced him to miss the past three games. In his absence, TreVeyon Henderson has taken on the lead running back duties, and he has starred during that stretch, scoring five touchdowns over the past two games.
Just because Henderson has made a star turn, though, doesn’t mean Stevenson is going to be an afterthought on offense once he returns. And according to a recent report, it sounds like Stevenson is looking to get back on the field for the team’s Week 12 action.
“I’m told Rhamondre Stevenson is targeting a return from a toe injury this week,” Jeremy Fowler of ESPN recently reported.
The 2025 campaign hasn’t exactly gone according to plan for Stevenson, as he’s continued to struggle with his efficiency (3.4 yards per carry) and fumbles (three of which have been lost). With Henderson proving he can handle a bigger workload, the coaching staff is going to have to figure out how Stevenson fits into the picture moving forward.
The first order of business for Stevenson involves putting together a strong week of practice, as that will give him his best shot of suiting up on Sunday. New England’s next contest is against the Cincinnati Bengals, with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on Sunday afternoon.
