The New England Patriots are set to square off against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 9, as they are looking to earn their sixth-straight win once they take the field. However, that task may have gotten more difficult, thanks to the latest update on running back Rhamondre Stevenson’s injury status.

While Stevenson made it through the team’s win over the Cleveland Browns in Week 9, he picked up a hip injury that caused him to miss practice on Wednesday and Thursday. However, he still had a shot to take the field on Friday and give himself a chance to play on Sunday.

It doesn’t appear as if that happened, though. With the team taking the field at Gillette Stadium for practice on Friday, Stevenson was once again absent, indicating that he likely won’t be playing against Atlanta.

“The Patriots huddle before practice inside Gillette Stadium, and there is no sign of RB Rhamondre Stevenson (toe) for the third straight day,” Mike Reiss of ESPN shared in a post on X.

If Stevenson can’t suit up for this game, that would leave TreVeyon Henderson and Terrell Jennings as the lone running backs on the active roster. In addition to those two guys, the Pats also have Rushawn Baker, Jonathan Ward and D’Ernest Johnson on their practice squad.

It will be worth double-checking Stevenson’s official Week 9 injury designation once the injury report comes out later on Friday, but all signs are pointing to him missing this game. The Patriots and Falcons will kick off their upcoming clash at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday afternoon.
