With a 54-yard field goal at 10:31 of he third quarter, Cairo Santos set the Chicago Bears record with his 24th field goal from at least 50 yards, breaking Robbie Gould’s record, which has stood since 2015. Santos is now 24 of 33 (72.7%) from 50+ in his Chicago career.

But that 54-yarder wasn’t his most memorable make in the Bears’ 19 to 17 win over the Minnesota Vikings, because he nailed a 48-yard walkoff to give the Bears their seventh victory this season.

Santos was four or five in the game, with his miss coming from 45 yards earlier in the fourth quarter.

Head coach Ben Johnson was asked what it says about Santos that he was able to come back and hit the game-winner after missing his previous kick.

“That’s who he [Santos] is. You know he’s a high-percentage field-goal kicker anyway, so you know I’ve got a lot of confidence in him. He’s proven that over the course of the season, and really, he’s been doing this for a long time, so he doesn’t let things one miss phase him. We know it’s high likelihood he’ll make the next one. He really kind of embodies with what we are as a team, very resilient.”

Here are a few more Santos-centric videos from social media.

Also, kudos to quarterback Caleb Williams for wanting Santos to do the on-field postgame interview with him on FOX.
