Following up on the earlier news that Alijah Vera-Tucker suffered a major injury, multiple national reporters now say the Jets believe the injury is a torn triceps. It would end his 2025 season before it began.
If so, this would be a big loss for the Jets on the eve of the regular season. It would also be a brutal break for AVT. Two of the three previous seasons he missed extensive time due to injuries. In his contract year, another major injury will likely impact his earning power.
The Jets offensive line depth would take a major hit. Josh Myers would step into the starting lineup, leaving the team without any sort of reliable backup.
The quality of the line would also decrease. Losing AVT makes the line worse. The Jets are a team lacking at the skill spots. They will need to lean on their line so a dropoff in quality will be noticed.
