Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said in his post-game press conference on Sunday, following the team’s loss to the Carolina Panthers, that he hadn’t even spoken to the training staff about tight end Tucker Kraft’s knee injury, but stated that “it does not look good.” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport seems to have someone in the Packers organization willing to share information with him, though, as he is now reporting that “the fear” is that Kraft has an ACL tear.
Generally, MRIs are taken the day after games for Green Bay, so keep an eye out for confirmation on Monday.
Last year, Christian Watson tore his ACL late in the 2024 season. He returned to the field last week, 294 days after his ACL tear. If Kraft’s recovery follows the same timeline as Watson’s, Kraft will be cleared sometime in late August of 2025.
For what it’s worth, Kraft was able to walk off the field with assistance, but was carted to the locker room after his stint in the blue tent.
Update: The Athletic’s Mike Silver is now reporting that he also has received word that the fear is an ACL tear.
