The NFL world found out in June that Trey Hendrickson was leaving the Cincinnati Bengals.
It was reported that Hendrickson and the Bengals had made no progress on a multiyear contract extension, and he was not expected to attend camp. This news has ignited rumors and trade proposals are making their rounds for the Bengals” superstar.
Hendrickson attended his first training camp practice late last month. Although he was not participating, he kept a keen eye on the defense’s workouts and gave pointers to his teammates.
“If I can help him in any way, that’s my goal for being here,” Hendrickson said at the time. “The plan was be here day 1. Things transpired. News happened to me, and we just kind of make decisions as we go.”
His plans might be changing fairly soon.
The Cincinnati Bengals are listening to trade offers for star pass-rusher Trey Hendrickson amid an ongoing contract dispute.
What would it cost to trade for the 30-year-old pass rusher?
Per The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, teams that have contacted Cincinnati about Hendrickson have been told that the asking price includes a “young defensive player” and a 2026 first-round pick.
“Teams that have recently inquired about Bengals star Trey Hendrickson were told Cincinnati’s asking price included a young defensive player and a 2026 first-round pick, according to league sources,” the veteran reporter shared Monday.

Clarifying, “The player heading back does not have to be a pass rusher.”
Trey Hendrickson is a veteran presence that is truly needed on the Bengals. He is a leader who can speak with young players on the team, like rookie star Shemar Stewart, who caused a major brawl after his vicious hit on Joe Burrow during offseason practice.
Should no deal happen, Hendrickson is set to make $15.8 million in base salary this season.
The Bengals are offering Hendrickson a contract in the $35 million per year range.
He led the NFL with 17.5 sacks last season and has 35 sacks over the past two years.
The Bengals had a deal on the table for Hendrickson, and they turned it down.
“Back before the draft, the Bengals had an offer on the table that was a second-round pick and change,” Tom Pelissero said on Monday. “At that time, they weren’t willing to engage with that. They wanted a first-rounder.”
