ESPN executive editor Cristina Daglas has reportedly been placed on leave following multiple employee complaints sent to human resources.
Cristina Daglas has been an executive editor for ESPN since 2014. According to Ryan Glasspiegel of Front Office Sports, Daglas was placed on administrative leave in January after HR received numerous “complaints”, though further details aren’t clear:
“Cristina Daglas, a top editor for ESPN’s website, has been on administrative leave from the company since late January after several employees filed human resources complaints, sources told Front Office Sports.
The specific nature of the complaints was not immediately available.
Daglas and a spokesperson for ESPN both declined to comment.”
Daglas graduated from journalism school at the University of Wisconsoin-Madison and the University of Missouri-Columbia. Per her LinkedIn profile, she worked at Milwaukee Magazine from 2009 to 2011 and spent a year at the D Magazine in Dallas-Fort Worth.
She was an adjunct professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst for one year (2017-18) and has held the same title at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism since 2020.

In 2016, ESPN announced Cristina Daglas as their new deputy editor, making her the first woman to hold the position for the Worldwide Leader in Sports.
ESPN has undergone a drastic personnel change over the last two years. In 2023, they moved on from big-name talents like Suzy Kolber, Zach Lowe, Max Kellerman, Steve Young, Todd McShay, Jalen Mose, Max Kellerman, Keyshawn Johnson, and Matt Hasselbeck.
Disney CEO Bob Iger previously warned that a long list of layoffs was coming in order to save $5.5 billion in costs. However, that hadn’t stopped the network from making other big splashes in Joe Buck, Troy Aikman and Pat McAfee, who signed lucrative long-term deals with the network.
We’ll provide more details on this matter when they become available.
Daglas didn’t respond to Front Office Sports’ request for a comment, and she hasn’t posted anything on her X/Twitter account.
