Terry McLaurin has signed a 3-year extension with the Washington Commanders that is worth up to $96 million per Adam Schefter. This locks up their #1 priority for an extension, and pays a team captain coming off of his best season, working with the best quarterback of his career in OROY Jayden Daniels.

Terry McLaurin’s contract status has been hanging over Washington’s head for most of the offseason and almost went into the season. The market for WRs exploded this year as $30m/year was quickly made the minimum for a WR1. Terry McLaurin was attending OTAs, but started his holdout during the second set of practices. The two sides were reportedly not close, and not talking for over a month before McLaurin spoke to the media to air out some of his frustrations. His holdout turned into a holdin and a trip to the PUP list for an ankle injury. McLaurin requested a trade and didn’t attend the team’s first home preseason game on Monday Night Football.
