Shedeur Sanders isn’t being given a fighting chance in Cleveland.

That’s according to former NFL wide receiver TJ Houshmandzadeh, who claims the Browns have already decided on the top two starting prospects, and their very short list does not include Shedeur.

Houshmandzadeh, a recent guest on Shannon Sharpe’s ‘Nightcap’ podcast, claimed the former Colorado star is the victim of an unfair quarterback competition, based on what he’s heard from people around the team.

While Sanders has realized his dream of entering the NFL and following in his father’s footsteps, it’s been anything but easy.

He surprisingly slipped out of the first round of the draft in April, falling all the way to Round 5, which cost him around $44 million. He also had to watch the Browns pick Dillon Gabriel ahead of him.

Someone In The Building Has Painted A Grim Picture Of Shedeur Sanders’ Rookie Season

The two rookies are now competing not just against each other, but against Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett, who have already been chosen as the top two starting candidates, per Houshmandzadeh.

“I don’t know how this is a fair competition,” he said. “Because I was told by somebody that’s in the building, that ain’t a player, it’s really coming down to Kenny Pickett or Dillon Gabriel.”

TJ would not reveal his source, only that it was someone in the organization who isn’t on the roster.

Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel have been the subject of varying reports, with some claiming the former Buffalo is by far the better of the two, while others note that the ex-Duck has impressed more in training.

Possibly adding some legitimacy to TJ’s claim is new Browns wide receiver Diontae Johnson claiming that the team will “roll with Kenny [Pickett] for right now.”

Of course, Shedeur still has some time to change his coaches’ minds in Cleveland. But he certainly hasn’t done himself any favors with his recent traffic violations.
