Report: Seahawks to finally sign veteran free agent guard
Field Gulls Field Gulls

Many fans of the Seattle Seahawks spent the offseason waiting for the team to make a move in free agency to address the interior of the offensive line.

Free agency came and went, though, without the team making a big splash at the position, instead opting to stand pat and open training camp with the same members of team who had been on the roster in 2024, with first round pick Grey Zabel added into the mix.

Those who kept hoping for the team to make a move will finally get their wish Thursday afternoon according to a report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport.

As Rapoport notes, the 28-year old Lemieux started four games for the New Orleans Saints last season, giving him a total of 16 starts in his career. Of those 16 starts, the most memorable, or perhaps forgettable is a better choice of words, came when the New York Giants upset the Seahawks 17-12 in Week 13 of the 2020 season.

Lemieux spent most of the offseason unsigned before signing with New Orleans in early August and spending the remainder of training camp with the Saints before being let go at final roster cuts. He now joins the Seahawks practice squad, where he will provide veteran depth on the interior of the offensive line.
