Report: Seahawks add former UW running back to practice squad

The Seattle Seahawks sit in a three way tie atop the NFC West with a Week 5 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers looking to tie the longest home win streak of the Mike Macdonald era at two games.

Regardless of the record or where the Seahawks sit in the standings, though, John Schneider and the rest of the Seattle front office continue to churn through available free agents as they look to build a roster as competitive as possible.

On that topic, on Wednesday a report from NFL insider Adam Schefter of ESPN indicates that the Seahawks are set to sign former Washington Huskies running back Myles Gaskin to the practice squad.

Gaskin was a seventh round pick of the Miami Dolphins in 2019, rushing for 1,355 yards in his four seasons in Miami, and has since had stints with the Minnesota Vikings, Los Angeles Rams, Jacksonville Jaguars and Baltimore Ravens.

The Seahawks had been carrying a full complement of 16 players on the practice squad, meaning there will need to be a corresponding more in order to create room for Gaskin, but no information on exactly what that move will be has been reported to this point.
