Windy City Gridiron
According to a report from the NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Kansas City Chiefs intend to hire current Chicago Bears running backs coach Eric Bieniemy as their new offensive coordinator.
It was reported that the Chiefs asked permission to interview Bieniemy earlier today, and with the familiarity he has with the organization — he coached there from 2013 to 2022 — K.C. is moving quickly to find Matt Nagy’s replacement.
Nagy, the Bears’ head coach from 2018 to 2021, is a leading candidate to land the Tennessee Titans’ head coaching job, but he’s also out of contract with the Chiefs.
This would be the second time Bieniemy took over for Nagy as Kansas City’s offensive coordinator, having replaced Nagy when he left for the Bears’ job in ‘18.
The 2025 season was Bieniemy’s first year coaching in the Windy City, and he helped running backs D’Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai become the only pair of backs in the league to each rush for over 750 yards.
