Report: Justin Fields is ‘Intrigued’ By Another AFC Team
Steelers Now Steelers Now

It seems like the Pittsburgh Steelers will have even more competition to bring back quarterback Justin Fields in 2025.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are still deciding if they want to re-sign Russell Wilson, Justin Fields or start fresh at quarterback in 2025. However, if the team wants to bring back Fields, it better get moving as his free-agent market continues to heat up.

Fields has already been receiving a lot of praise from other teams around the league, one of which is the New York Jets. Jeremy Fowler of ESPN revealed the feeling is mutual for Fields.

“They could have some interest. They like the idea of a dual-threat quarterback,” Fowler said on “SportsCenter.” “He’s younger. I’m told Fields has looked at that roster, sees some intrigue there too. They have some good young pieces, like Garrett Wilson and a good defense.”

The Jets announced last week that they are parting ways with quarterback Aaron Rodgers this offseason. It just so happens that the Steelers are among the favorites to land him, which means the two teams could simply be swapping quarterbacks in the coming weeks.

That doesn’t mean that’s what Steelers fans are hoping happens, though. The 15-years-younger Fields is a much more intriguing option in 2025 after leading Pittsburgh to a 4-2 start last season.

In Fields’ six starts, he threw for 1,106 yards, five touchdowns and just one interception. He also rushed for 231 yards and five touchdowns during the span.

Wilson eventually got the nod to start once he was fully healed from his calf injury, but the team’s five-game losing streak to end the season has left many wondering what could have been with Fields. It seems the Steelers aren’t the only team that feels that way.

Wilson and Fields were originally thought to have very different markets, but it may be Fields who ends up having more suitors, putting even more pressure on the Steelers to make a decision soon.
