Cincinnati Bengals fans will reportedly have to wait at least one more game to welcome back star quarterback Joe Burrow.

“Joe Burrow (toe) will not play against the Patriots,” senior NFL insider Dianna Russini of The Athletic posted on Bluesky Saturday morning. “League sources say that the Bengals made the decision Friday to roll with Joe Flacco for another week, with the hope that Burrow will return to the lineup Thanksgiving night against the Ravens.”

“Bengals QB Joe Burrow, attempting to come back just over two months after surgery to repair Grade 3 turf toe, won’t be moved to the active roster just yet, source said. He’ll remain on IR,” NFL Network national insider Ian Rapoport wrote on Bluesky. “Joe Flacco starts, once again. But Burrow’s time is coming.”

Burrow, who hasn’t played since Week 2 due to a toe injury, returned to practice on Monday and was a full participant by Wednesday.

Some NFL experts were convinced that the two-time Pro Bowler would return vs. the New England Patriots on Sunday, while others remained skeptical.

In addition to trotting out arguably the worst defense in the NFL, the Bengals will also be severely shorthanded on both sides of the ball Sunday.

Cincinnati’s best receiver (All-Pro wideout Ja’Marr Chase) is suspended for Week 12, while its best defender (All-Pro defensive end Trey Hendrickson) is set to miss his third straight game due to a hip injury.
