Make that two members of Nick Sirianni’s coaching staff in consideration to be Kellen Moore’s OC.
Philadelphia Eagles running backs coach/assistant head coach Jemal Singleton is interviewing for the New Orleans Saints’ offensive coordinator vacancy on Kellen Moore’s new coaching staff, according to NFL insider Adam Schefter.
Schefter added:
One Eagles official recently described Singleton as “a big part of what we do on offense and a rising star going forward.”
Singleton, 49, replaced Duce Staley as the Eagles’ RB coach on Sirianni’s original Eagles coaching staff back in 2021. He’s overseen notable success at his position group since then. Miles Sanders made his first and only career Pro Bowl in 2022. D’Andre Swift made his first and only career Pro Bowl in 2023. Saquon Barkley was the NFL Offensive Player of the Year and broke the league’s single-season rushing record (including playoffs) in 2024. It’s hard to argue Singleton hasn’t helped get the most out of his players.
And so it shouldn’t be surprising that Moore has some level of interest in bringing Singleton with him to New Orleans.
One would think, however, that Eagles quarterbacks coach Doug Nussmeier is more likely to be hired as the Saints’ OC given his comparatively extensive history working with Moore.
We’ll see if the Eagles end up retaining Singleton or not. The guess here is that they will. They should probably interview him for their own OC opening.
If Singleton doesn’t land a promotion this offseason, he could be in position for one next year if the Eagles continue to have success.
