The New York Jets are reportedly preparing to release wide receiver Davante Adams, and that is not something the wide receiver would be upset about.

In fact, he already has another team in mind.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the New York Jets will “probably” release Adams in order to save “almost $30 million” in cap space.

The LA Chargers need wide receiver help this offseason and have an intriguing superstar option to potentially pursue.

The report goes on to state that Davante Adams is intrigued by several teams, including the Chargers.

“He will have options, and I’m told that he is intrigued by the West Coast,” Fowler said during an appearance on SportsCenter. “You have teams like the Los Angeles Rams, Los Angeles Chargers, maybe San Francisco 49ers. He’s from the West Coast, so it’s a possibility he could end up there. Maybe the Packers want to run it back to him as well if they could involved there.”

The Chargers could add the complementary receiving threat alongside Ladd McConkey and give Justin Herbert everything he needs to succeed.

Adams had quite the year in 2024. He started the season with the Las Vegas Raiders, but the Jets acquired him in a trade on Oct. 15.

The six-time Pro Bowl receiver was unable to help the Jets turn their season around. However, he did help himself out in the passing game.

Davante Adams Had A Resurgence With The New York Jets

Davante Adams’ time with the New York Jets appears to be coming to a close, but he still showed he had much left in the tank after his trade there.

Adams’ made individual improvements following the change of scenery.

He went from averaging 69.7 yards per game as a member of the Las Vegas Raiders to 77.6 yards per game with the Jets.

He also hauled in 67 receptions for 854 yards and seven touchdowns in 11 games with New York.

Over his final five games, he caught 36 passes for 510 yards and five scores.

Any quarterback would love to have him.
