Jameis Winston’s outgoing personality and humor has landed him a temporary job at Fox Sports for Super Bowl 59.

Fox Sports has announced that Jameis Winston will work as a digital correspondent for them at Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans, Louisana on Feb. 9. Per the network’s announcement, the 2015 first overall pick “will take fans through a tour of the Big Easy in a series of digital videos as he visits several of his favorite go-to spots.”

Aside from his on-field performance, Winston is renowned for providing hysterical interviews and soundbites. His playing career is obviously far from over, but he has already received a golden opportunity to sell himself as a future NFL broadcaster.

FOX is airing Super Bowl 59 between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles. Kevin Burkhardt will be on the call with Tom Brady and Erin Andrews, with the seven-time Super Bowl champion calling his first big game in the broadcast booth.

Jameis Winston signed with the Browns last year to back up Deshaun Watson following a four-year stint with the New Orleans Saints. Watson suffered a season-ending Achilles tear in Week 7 against the Cincinnati Bengals, prompting head coach Kevin Stefanski to make Winston the starter.

Winston appeared in 12 games and made seven starts. He completed 61.1 percent of pass attempts for 2,121 yards and 13 touchdowns against 12 interceptions, eventually losing the starting job to sophomore Dorian Thompson-Robinson late in the year.

Jameis Winston Is A Pending Free Agent

The 31-year-old Winston is set to enter free agency for the third time in his career (he signed with New Orleans in 2020 after five years with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers). He’s not a starter at this phase of his career, but Winston should draw considerable interest as a backup if he hits the open market.

Then again, the Browns could finally decide to move on from Watson and bring back Winston as insurance while they figure out their long-term solution behind center.
