Mia O’Brien mentioned there’s mutual interest between Ian Cunningham and the Jaguars for their GM vacancy.
As the offseason progresses there are more twists and turns happing around the league. I mean... just check out what happened with Liam Coen landing in Duval county. Speaking of Duval there’s an update that potentially affects the Chicago Bears.
Per Mia O’Brien of 1010XL there is mutual interest between Bears AGM Ian Cunningham and the Jacksonville Jaguars for their general manager position.
For the third consecutive year we’ve seen interest from around the league for Ian Cunningham in multiple GM searches. Just over a week ago Ian was a finalist yet again for the job with the Tennessee Titans. Now that the coaching search has ended, Ian has even more time to focus on his upcoming interview(s) with the Jaguars. This hire could progress quickly.
Of course there are more ramifications if Ian Cunningham gets the job - the Bears will receive two compensatory picks between the 2025 and 2026 drafts as an incentive for clubs to encourage diversity throughout the league’s ranks. Nothing is close to being finalized as of the writing for this article. Yet Ian has been deserving of such a promotion for years now.
Once we have more updates to cover we will let you all know.
