Nemo Washington joined the Browns coaching staff as a part of the Bill Willis Coaching Fellowship

The Cleveland Browns might have had a terrible season last year but that hasn’t stopped parts of their staff from getting bigger opportunities in other places. It started when Mike Vrabel was hired by the New England Patriots as their head coach after a year as a consultant with the Browns.

Then, thanks to Vrabel’s recommendation, Jordan Thomas was drawn to the college ranks to join Bill O’Brien at Boston College. Thomas was Cleveland’s assistant defensive line coach.

Now comes a report from The OBR’s Brad Stainbrook that Nemo Washington, a coach as a part of the Bill Willis Coaching Fellowship the last two years, will be joining former NFL great Desean Jackson’s staff at Delaware State as their offensive coordinator:

Washington held the same title with Wheeling University before joining the Browns in 2023.

The Willis Fellowship was a program created by the Browns for the opportunity for a rising minority coach with a focus on the offensive side of the ball. Washington is the third recipient of the fellowship.
