Glenn is clearly the top candidate.

Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn has reportedly been offered the head coaching job of the New York Jets. Per Josina Anderson from ESPN, Glenn has told people that he will take it.

Glenn’s departure from the team facility yesterday raised some anxiety in the Jets fanbase, but it isn’t at all clear that anxiety was justified. The fact a deal wasn’t finalized with him at the facility is not necessarily an indication he will end up elsewhere. In fact, four years ago Robert Saleh left the team facility without a contract and then agreed to coach the Jets shortly after.

Glenn did have a meeting scheduled today with the Saints on the books. Weather has apparently impacted his travel plans. Of course, nothing is final until it’s final. It’s always possible there could be an 11th hour snag, but it looks like Aaron Glenn is on track to become the next head coach of the New York Jets.
