Baltimore Ravens star quarterback Lamar Jackson will miss his third straight game Sunday due to his hamstring injury, the team announced on Saturday.

Ravens QB Tyler “Snoop” Huntley is set to start against the Chicago Bears. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Jackson is expected to return from his hamstring injury Thursday night in Miami versus the Dolphins.

Schefter notes that Jackson just was not ready to play with a hamstring injury that sidelined him two previous games, especially with another game on a short week Thursday night in Miami.

The Ravens are 0-2 without Jackson this season, averaging just 6.5 points per game in those two contests. Since 2019, Baltimore is 4-11 when Jackson does not play, averaging 15.3 points per game.

The reeling Ravens currently sit at 1-5. It’s been a season of turmoil in Baltimore, but the Ravens are hoping to bounce back coming off their bye week.

The Ravens were tabbed as Super Bowl favorites prior to the start of the season, but a slew of injuries and horrendous defensive play as left Baltimore at 1-5 through seven weeks. The Ravens have allowed 41, 17, 38, 37, 44 and 17 points in six games. The defense took a step forward against the Los Angeles Rams last Sunday, allowing just 17 points. But without Jackson, the offense put up only three points. The Ravens benched starting quarterback Cooper Rush in favor of Huntley in the fourth quarter.

Following the Ravens’ bye in Week 7, Baltimore plays the Bears, Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings, Cleveland Browns and New York Jets. On paper, that’s a pretty favorable schedule for the Ravens to get back in the AFC playoff picture.

Not having Jackson on Sunday against Chicago could create an even deeper hole for the Ravens.
