The Philadelphia Eagles are thinking about one thing and one thing only. As the reigning Super Bowl champions, they have set their sights on a repeat.
However, safety Reed Blankenship might have other things on his mind, as he recently made a big personal announcement.
“Reed Blankenship and his wife Elsa announced they have a baby on the way,” The Eagle Times wrote on X.

Blankenship got off to a slow start to the season. He seemed to be playing his way out of a lucrative contract extension, and with the secondary struggling, pressure was mounting on defensive coordinator Vic Fangio to find some answers.
The Eagles’ defense has looked much better over the past couple of weeks. Acquiring cornerback Michael Carter II and linebacker Jaelan Phillips before the NFL trade deadline has worked wonders, and it is approaching an elite level again.
Unfortunately, that hasn’t been enough to focus the conversation on the things that matter. Once again, there are rumblings about quarterback Jalen Hurts, wide receiver A.J. Brown, and dysfunction in the locker room. That has been an issue throughout Nick Sirianni’s tenure as head coach, and his ability to deal with those egos has left a lot to be desired.
Yet, the Eagles continue to win games, and that’s all that matters. For Blankenship, however, his focus might be somewhere else, at least for the time being.
