Moore met the media for the first time on Thursday.
The New Orleans Saints new head coach Kellen Moore met with the New Orleans media for the first time on Thursday. Fresh off just winning the Super Bowl in the Superdome as offensive coordinator of the Philadelphia Eagles, Moore now becomes the youngest head coach in the NFL as he takes the reins for the Saints.
Moore was first asked about his first 72 hours after the Super Bowl and how he got started in the process of taking command of the Saints.
“It’s been a phenomenal opportunity to get back into New Orleans, first of all to get to know the building, there’s phenomenal people throughout this building and I think that’s the great joy the first few days provide, really connecting with the building, throughout all the support staff the players the coaches, that will be a process as we go through building this, but it’s been a really fun opportunity.”

Moore on how his experience playing 6 years in the NFL has helped him as a coach.
“Yeah, certainly any time you can lean on experiences as a player or a coach it’s a tremendous opportunity, and certainly the players and coaches I was around, I learned a lot from those guys, and certainly as we go through this process any time you can lean on those experiences, you’ve been in those player’s shoes, you’ve dealt with the challenges that they deal with you can lean into those experiences.”
The question finally came about QB Derek Carr, and given his cap hit and level of play, if Moore views him as the Week 1 starter.
“Derek’s a tremendous quarterback in this league. I’ve had so much respect for him, the journey that he’s been on. He’s a starter in this league, he’s a premier player in this league, he’s had a great journey, obviously going from Fresno State to the Raiders and now here. I’m really...
