A blockbuster trade proposal has a surprise NFC team acquiring Tennessee Titans signal-caller Will Levis to shake up their quarterback room.
The Titans used the No. 1 pick on Miami quarterback Cam Ward, all but ending Levis’ opportunity to prove himself as the franchise player. The No. 33 pick of the 2023 NFL Draft is 5-16-0 as a starter with just 21 touchdowns against 16 interceptions.
But as we’ve seen with the likes of Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold, it’s not too late for a quarterback to hit his ceiling if he lands with the right team. Some clubs should be interested in the 25-year-old Will Levis, who won’t cost much in a trade at this stage.
Cory Woodroof of For The Win proposed a blockbuster trade idea that has Tennessee trading Will Levis to the New Orleans Saints in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick and QB Jake Haener:
“Levis pairing with new Saints offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is intriguing, as it’d give the Saints another option at the most important position on the field. Levis has a big arm and is still pretty young, and we could easily see New Orleans having to kick on the quarterback carousel this fall if Shough struggles.
Levis might have his flaws and lost his Tennessee job for a reason, but Moore might be the guy to help Levis reach more of his ceiling. The Titans could add quarterback Jake Haener in return to contend for their backup job.”
With Derek Carr unexpectedly retiring, the Saints have the league’s murkiest quarterback situation heading into 2025. Spencer Rattler lost all six of his starts in 2024 and threw just four touchdowns against five interceptions, and rookie Tyler Shough brings far more questions than answers.
By no means is Levis a sure thing to come into New Orleans and become a superstar, but it’s worth taking a chance if the Titans’ asking price is reasonable. Levis has more experience and much higher upside than Rattler and Shough, so GM Mickey Loomis may as well add Levis and see if he can provide an upgrade behind center.
