Reacts Results: Fan confidence in the Chicago Bears plummets

Welp, that didn’t take long.

After the Chicago Bears’ disappointing loss in prime time against the Minnesota Vikings, our fans’ confidence in the direction of the team dropped 37 percentage points to 48%. The exciting offseason had us at an 85% confidence level just last week, but watching the Bears lose in that manner.

It was an all-too-familiar way to drop a football game.

Dare I say it was Bearsy?

The Bears had control of the game in the first three quarters, and it seemed they would coast to a victory. They led 17 to 6 after three. They had 254 yards to just 85 for the Vikings. And Minnesota was 0 for 8 on third-down tries.

As the third quarter was winding down, they had a first down from the Viking 24, and D’Andre Swift took a pass 12 yards to set them up with a first and ten from the 12-yard line.

But there was a flag on the play.

A questionable holding penalty backed them up.

Then an incomplete pass.

An intentional grounding penalty backed them up some more on second down.

A 12-yard pass on third down as the third expired.

And then on the first play of the fourth quarter, Cairo Santos missed a 50-yard field goal, and everything spiraled out of control after that.

The Bears are on the road this Sunday to take on a hungry and angry Lions squad.
