Should the Houston Texans re-sign Stefon Diggs?
The Houston Texans had high hopes for their offense with the addition of veteran wide receiver Stefon Diggs in April of last offseason, but things did not go according to plan.
Diggs started the 2024 season off hot with two-touchdown catches against the Indianapolis Colts, but ended with only four total in eight games, due to the veteran receiver suffering a season-ending Torn-ACL.
Houston’s offense was struggling with Diggs in the lineup, but it made sense for there to be some growing pains, and it is safe to say that the chemistry of Diggs and quarterback C.J. Stroud would have only continued to grow.
The Texans need a reliable target on the opposite side of Nico Collins, therefore they should be interested in bringing him back on a one-year deal. Diggs does not have a history of injuries, despite suffering a very serious one early in his first year in Houston. The only Texans wide receivers of note that are the roster in 2025 are Collins, Hutchinson and Metchie.
NFL Reporter James Palmer predicts that Diggs will remain with the Texans, due to his happiness in Houston, along with the feeling of unfinished business. Quarterback C.J. Stroud has also publicly advocated for the team to re-sign Diggs, which would be the right move for 2025.
