Ward, 28, spent the 2024 season with the Steelers, jumping between the team’s practice squad and active roster for most of the year. He was released by Pittsburgh on June 19 after signing a reserve/future contract earlier in the offseason.

Last season, Ward appeared in four games and rushed for 22 yards on five carries (4.4 yards per carry). He also recorded two tackles on special teams.

Ward began his NFL career as an undrafted free agent out of the 2020 NFL Draft. He went on to sign with the Arizona Cardinals, who he would play three seasons with.

The Cardinals then released Ward during the 2022 season and he signed to the New York Jets practice squad. However, that was short-lived as he was released less than a month later.

Ward then signed with the Tennessee Titans, where he also jumped between the practice squad and active roster from 2022-23.

This season, Ward has spent time with the New York Giants and New England Patriots. He has been searching for another opportunity since being released by the Patriots for the second time on Nov. 25.

Ward played his collegiate football at Central Michigan University. In four seasons, he rushed for 2,539 yards and 28 touchdowns on 473 carries. He also recorded 98 receptions for 909 yards and four more scores.
