The Baltimore Ravens suffered a significant injury blow on Monday, as star defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike will miss the rest of the 2025 season with a neck injury, head coach John Harbaugh announced.

Madubuike, 27, was placed on the injured reserve list on Saturday with a neck injury. Harbaugh was vague in providing details about the specific diagnosis for Madbuike and how the Ravens ascertained that he will be out for the season.

“A lot of that is things that he needs to address with you guys in his time,” Harbaugh said. “I really can’t speak for him. I wouldn’t want to. Those are questions that would be best answered by him going forward.”

Madubuike played in the first two games of the 2025 season for the Ravens, recording seven tackles, two tackles for loss, three quarterback hits and two sacks.

A third-round pick out of Texas A&M in 2020, Madubuike had a breakout season in 2023, when he recorded 13 sacks on the way to his first Pro Bowl nod. He was again a Pro Bowl performer in 2024, when he had 6.5 sacks.

John Jenkins and Brent Urban started at defensive tackle for the Ravens in their Week 4 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Travis Jones and Broderick Washington Jr. had started the previous week against the Detroit Lions. Washington was also placed on the injured reserve list on Saturday with an ankle injury. Jones missed the game with a knee injury.

The Ravens have a litany of injury issues, starting with quarterback Lamar Jackson, who left the loss to the Chiefs with a hamstring injury. Cornerback Marlon Humphrey, outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy, cornerback Nate Wiggins and linebacker Roquan Smith and fullback Patrick Ricard are all also dealing with injuries.

The Pittsburgh Steelers won’t meet the Ravens for the first time this season until Week 14, when they will visit Baltimore. The Ravens come to Pittsburgh to close season in Week 18.
