The Baltimore Ravens have completed an interview for their head coaching vacancy with former Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski, the Ravens announced on Friday.

On Monday, the Browns fired Stefanski after six seasons. Cleveland finished the 2025 season with a 5-12 record, marking their second straight season at the bottom of the AFC North.

Stefanski was 45-56 in the regular season, leading the Browns to the playoffs in 2020 and 2023. He led the Browns to their first playoff win since 1994 when Cleveland beat the Steelers in the 2020 AFC Wild Card Game. It was also Cleveland’s first playoff appearance since 2002.

Stefanski was named NFL Head Coach of the Year in 2020 and 2023. He provided stability for the Browns, but after six years the Haslams decided to move on.

Stefanski became the 16th coach to win the Associated Press NFL Coach of the Year award multiple times since its inception in 1957. Stefanski coached 101 regular-season games as Browns head coach — the most for the franchise since Blanton Collier’s 112 games from 1963–1970.

Stefanski is one of the top candidates in the 2026 coaching hiring cycle. Former Ravens head coach John Harbaugh, who was fired after 18 seasons on Tuesday, is another highly-touted candidate in this year’s HC cycle.

Harbaugh, 63, first joined the Ravens as their head coach in 2008, later leading the team to a victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII. He ends his tenure in Baltimore with the NFL coaching record for the most road playoffs wins (eight).

However, it is the Ravens lack of postseason success that ultimately led to the team parting ways with him. Baltimore has consistently failed to reach the high expectations of those around the league, and it seems the organization believed it was finally time for a fresh start.

There are eight vacant head coach positions in this year’s cycle. Harbaugh is not expected to conduct any head-coach interviews until next week.
