The Baltimore Ravens are giving running back Derrick Henry a record-breaking contract extension after his stellar 2024 campaign.
Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry is staying in the AFC North for a little bit longer. He and the Ravens reached agreement Wednesday on a two-year, $30 million extension that includes $25 million fully guaranteed over the next two seasons, according to ESPN insider Adam Schefter.
Henry’s deal is the largest in NFL history for a running back over 30 years old and now gives him a great chance to finish his illustrious NFL career in Baltimore now signed through the 2027 season.

The Ravens signed Henry to a two-year, $16 million deal last offseason, but he outplayed it while rushing for 1,921 yards (5.9 yards per carry) and 16 touchdowns in 2024.
The 31-year-old also proved to be worth the money in the playoffs when he ran all over the Pittsburgh Steelers defense for 186 yards and two touchdowns in the wild-card win.
Henry’s dominance was so bad that the Steelers seemed to center their entire 2025 NFL Draft on stopping him in the future. Luckily they did because he’s not going anywhere anytime soon.
The five-time Pro Bowler’s new deal has the third-highest average annual value for any running back, behind only Philadelphia Eagles’ Saquon Barkley ($20.6M) and San Francisco 49ers’ Christian McCaffery ($19M).
Henry has rushed for 11,423 yards and 106 touchdowns in his nine-year NFL career and now plenty of time to build upon that in Baltimore.
