The Los Angeles Chargers star offensive lineman landed at No. 6 in ESPN’s Top 10 offensive tackles rankings ahead of the 2025 season.

Over the past week, ESPN has rolled out rankings on the best players at each NFL position, voted on by NFL execs, coaches and scouts. On Sunday, the offensive tackle rankings released and Los Angeles Chargers’ Rashawn Slater landed at No. 6.

A factor in his ranking, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, was his fit in offensive coordinator Greg Roman’s scheme.

“He was better against pressure and excelled in this scheme,” an NFC executive said. “If you put the emphasis on movement rather than pure physicality, you value him more.”

Last year, Slater landed at No. 9 on the list, meaning a three-spot improvement after last year’s performance.

There weren’t many critiques of Slater from the respondents, with one being how he can wear down at the end of games.

“But that’s nitpicking — he’s a guy you like to measure your top pass rushers against to see how they truly stack up against good talent,” an AFC scout said.
