There are some strong quarterbacks on the way
The NFL is a quarterback league.
So, while browsing any schedule, a key is to see the quarterbacks that are on the schedule. So, let’s look at the Las Vegas Raiders’ 2025 schedule and rank the quarterbacks they will face:
Oct. 19 at Kansas City Chiefs, 10 a.m., CBS, Week 18
Patrick Mahomes may have had a down season (for him) in 2024 and he had a rough Super Bowl. But let’s not complicate things. He is an all-time great and he’s in his prime. He’s the top quarterback Las Vegas will face this season.
Dec. 14 at Philadelphia Eagles, 10 a.m., FOX
Jalen Hurts is a bad man and he’s only getting better. His game has elevated greatly since his previous meeting against the Raiders, in 2021. This will be a great challenge for Patrick Graham and his defense.
Sept 15 Los Angeles Chargers, 7 p.m., ESPN, Nov. 30, 1:25 p.m.
Some people like to downgrade Herbert and say he’s overrated. That’s just incorrect. He’s the good and with increase help from his supporting cast, the sixth-year player should make strides this season.
Sept. 21 at Washington Commanders, 10 a.m., FOX
With that said, Daniels may leap by Herbert after this season. That’s not a reflection on Herbert, but just shows how special Daniels is. He had an incredible rookie season and the needle is pointing up.
Nov. 17 Dallas Cowboys, 5:20 p.m., ESPN
I’m a Dak Prescott guy. He’s not elite and he is a tier below the other quarterbacks on the Raiders’ schedule. But he is an above-average player that will be challenge for every defense he faces this season.
Dec. 21 at Houston Texans, 1:25 p.m., CBS
Stroud is a tough study and he could easily move up the ranks on this list. He was great as a rookie, but took some lumps in 2024, his second season. The Texans have a god awful offensive line and that doesn’t do him any favors. But he is very much a dangerous player and won’t be an easy task for the Raiders’ defense.
Nov. 6 at Denver Broncos, 5:15 p.m. Amazon, Dec. 7, CBS, 1:05 p.m.
Nix may not be way at the top of this list, but he is an excellent player who should make progress in his second season. He is a perfect fit for Broncos’ coach Sean Payton. The Raiders have always seen the damage Nix can deliver.
Nov. 2 Jacksonville Jaguars, 1:05 p.m., FOX
Trevor Lawrence hasn’t become the sure-fire star he was expected to be when the Jaguars made him the No. 1 overall draft pick four years ago. But he is highly talented and he’s dangerous. He shouldn’t be overlooked.
Sept. 7 at New England Patriots, 10 a.m., CBS
I’m a believer in Drake Maye and this he is going to have a big second season. It may be a break for the Raiders to face him in Week in his first game under...
