We’re down to the Final Four in the NFL Playoffs.
The Seattle Seahawks will host the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship game this Sunday, while the Denver Broncos welcome the New England Patriots in a blast from the past match-up.
Obviously, we’d all rather see the Eagles take their rightful place in the Big Dance, but for the purpose of football fans who will continue watching the next three games, I figured we’d take a look at the remaining teams and rank them in terms of who we’d want to see raise the Lombardi Trophy if it can’t be the Birds.
Of course, some of you probably have futures still in play at New Jersey sports betting apps and Pennsylvania sports betting apps, and that would cause some bias in determining what would be the most entertaining match-up and champion. Maybe you’ll cast a live bet at halftime that will eventually push you one way or the other.
But if we’re looking at all four teams left right now, which of them winning the Super Bowl would cause us the least amount of annoyance?
I don’t think there’s any player or coach on the Seahawks I can look at and say I [sports] hate. It’s been a decade since they’ve been in the Super Bowl and I don’t even remember anyone talking about them as if they were a threat to be where they are. It almost seems like a feel-good story as Sam Darnold went from the 14-3 Vikings in 2024 (finished 9-8 in 2025) to the 10-7 Seahawks (14-3 in 2025). Their defense is compared a lot to the Eagles – and we expected a down year on that side of the ball. Their uniforms are great, and Lumen Field is chaotic enough to appreciate watching on TV.
Even though they’re led by Sean Payton and now without Bo Nix for the rest of the playoffs, the Broncos were a fun team to watch in 2025 with the exception of their October 5th game, which will be the only time we reference that disgusting date. They beat the Chiefs twice, and even though they couldn’t take full advantage of Josh Allen’s four turnovers in the AFC Divisional Playoff, that overtime was ridiculously awesome as a fan with no skin in the game. The injury to Nix is a brutal one, so there’s really nobody that will give them a chance now, but it’d still be better than seeing the Rams or Patriots raise another Lombardi.
Matthew Stafford is an incredible quarterback. He’s an example of why no team should give up on quarterbacks early. But after the Rams seemingly kicked the can down the road after winning it all in the 2021 season, I give credit to Sean McVay for staying the course and rebuilding a very good team around Stafford that’s found themselves back in an NFC Championship game.
